  • Build Commences on the 600NSP

    Hi guys

Well, it got the better of me and I commenced the build on the 600NSP today. I'm not going to do a blog on the build for reasons I'll outline at a later date. However, during my build, I'll be shooting a few pics and will post them on the site for comment.

    Here's the first batch:

What's in the box (plus a few extra bits):

    First parts selection:

    Cleaning my balls (ooerrr mussus!):

    Loctiteing my balls (painful?):

    First assembly:

Installing mixing arms to seesaw holder:

    Measuring flybar:

    Head assembly:

Enjoying what I'm doing so far and can't wait for the next steps!

    Martin

Most of the Aligns, fair few Spektrum bits, bunch of Align & HiTec servos, OBE, VD & Bar.

Thanks Eddie. I used nail varnish remover on the tissues (kitchen roll) to clean the threads on the metal parts. I used the corners rolled up to screw into the female threads and changed them until they came out clean and ready to Loctite.

Nice one martin, my 600NSP is awaiting me to open the box and start building, which with the weather as bad as it is at the moment is not likely to be too long. what servos, gyro etc are you using?

Thanks guys - I've gone for the DS610s on cyclic, the DS620 and GP750 combo to look after the tail for me and a S3152 to run throttle. Not yet got a receiver but will probably go for the AR7000 or equivalent.

For some reason the red/yellow came with the blue metalwork - would have preferred the black. Still, at the price I paid, I was just happy to get it.

Wow you build table is like the McLaren F1 garage! Tidy, everything laid out.

Another tip for degreasing screws is that Nitro cleaner spray the RC car guys use, available in most model shops. Watch out though, rags (paper towel) soaked in this are somewhat flamable (Don't ask)!

Blue metal work looks good actually.
