Got one of the above turning up tomorrow. It's been a while since I bought a 600N Pro a year or so back.

There were a few changes made to the 600 kits over the years. Can I expect to see the clear fuel tank in my kit if it is a newish batch? Couldn't stand the milk white tank on my old Pro

Not on the sport Tom, or the std pro, clear tank only comes on the NSP.
Sport is a good heli Tom, only recently sold my lads, and thats only because i picked up a pro at a bargin price.
The sport was the first proper heli i owned and was sad to see it go but it had done it's job and i still loved flying it even against the NSP.
If not fitted get the upgraded swash, flys truer with that on and the old one wears quite fast

Cheers James, the standard Pro does come with the clear tank now, hence why I was hoping the Sport does, guess I will have to wait and see. Yeah my 600 Pro was my first proper heli, I'm getting this one as a beater though, costing too much to crash the 90's

That has a clear tank as I look at it now.

Adam Jelly also bought a sport last week and that has a clear tank too.

Sorry James the items must have changed.

No thats cool Tim, they must of changed the later kits, probably to cut costs by producing two types of tank, hope yours is the same Tom

                  Hi guys,

have you guys had any issues with your tail wagging with the belt?
Basically, I was hovering last night and the tail was wagging but it was only a small wag but it always coincides with a sort of buzzing sound from the belt/boom (hope you know what I mean lol) so was wondering if you might have any ideas on how to sort it out as its doing me head in!!!! lol..

As for belt tension, ive got it so its taut (sp?) so that when you stick your finger i nthe hole by the rear of the bird (ooer!!!) you can push it but it dosnt touch the other side of the belt when you start feeling the tension etc. and its notso tight that you can feel the drag when turning the main blades by hand (did do when I first tightened the belt, but released it a fraction so now no longer has that drag)

Its the one thing thats bugging the crap outta me on this thing as the manuals no use on how toight to have the belt, and im wondering if you guys could shed some light on the wag/buzz issue.

If we get chance to go out again tonight, i'll try to see if I can get some video footage as seeing it is a lot easier than trying to describe it lol..

                  Many thanks,

                    Mark.

It would help if you mentioned which gyro/servo combination you are using but "YES" we have had the same buzzing and twitching with our tail's on our 600's.

I am using a Spartan ds760 working with a Futaba BLS251 tail and have setup the tail as per Spartan website using no tail pitch (0 degrees) at all.

We are also using a torque tube and not a belt not that it matters on this subject.

I constantly got the buzzing and a very slight twitch from the tail but nothing that really bothered me in flight so left it lone.

I sold the same T-Rex 600 to gazza last week and we both noticed the twitch and the buzzing when he test flew the heli for the first time.

We set about curing the problem by moving the ball link "IN" one hole on the servo arm and put 7 degrees of pitch into the tail blades.

Played about with the gain a little and the buzzing and the twitching has now dissapeared.

                    Hope this helps a little.

Yep if what you are seeing is a gyro wag then Tim's suggestion will sort it. However, I too have a slight hunting (wouldnt call it a wag).

Heres what I know about that, 1) it only happens with the stock batman style tail blades. 2) it is excentuated by an overly tight belt. 3) it does it in hold too so it is not vibration/engine tuning.

It also does it more inverted, leading me to believe that the tail is low on authority with the batman blades as while inverted the tail does not benefit from rotor wash.

FWIW it doesnt bother me, I bought the 600 as a beater and it is proving perfect for the job, I am so tight I wont even get rid of the plastic tail blades till they are knackered lol. Oh and I promised myself I wouldnt clean it either but that has gone out the window

                        Thanks guys,

                        My gyro/servo is a GP750 with 9254.
Originaly had the tail set so that all the tail link rod horns were at 90 which gave the tail pitch a few degrees of pitch, but changed it to follow the Align instructions on making the tail slider centralised which then gave 0 pitch.
I will readjust it so that the arm that is under the tail unit is at 90 to the pushrod which will bring back in the 7 or so degrees of pitch in the tail blades and see how it fares.

I changed my tail blades as I had an old pair of Freya ones kicking about left over from my old Evo as I thought it might have been to do with the 'batman' blades that came with it (hehe Im just as tight as still kept the batmans JUST in case lol) but still got the wag/hunt/kick etc.

The few guys who have 600's at our club all run torque tubes and dont know how tight to have the belt unfortunately, could do with Busterboy popping over and sticking his finger in my bird to see if its tight enough or too tight (ooer Mrs LOL!!!)

Will change the tail pitch and see how it fares, will let you all know

                        Many thanks

                        Mark.

Edit: will also see about just easing the belt tension off a bit more too to see if the belt is a bit tight as in brgsstm's post
