Trex 700 Canopies

Hi All,

I have just purchased a used Trex 700 with a Fusino canopy. I cannot believe how thin and flimsey these canopies are. I am slightly concerned that in the event of a crash, the canopy would not offer the electrics underneath any protection. How do the Fusino canopies compare with the stock Align and Canomod ones for thickness and strength?

My canomod v2 shape is quite tough, thicker than the stock align one and the holes are at least in the right place

the align ones are very thin. canomod use funsuno canopies FYI so it's the same canopy.

the funsuno ones survive better than the align ones in a bump, no doubt.

Canomod make their own canopies and are definately not fusuno ones. If you look on the inside of a canomod they have their name/logo embedded in the fibreglass. The canomods I've had/have are at least as thick as the originals if not slightly more so.

The V1 Fusono canopies are thicker than the stock canopy but not by much, as Sao says, the V2 canopies from Fusono are much thicker & stronger.

there is several posts on other forums that both canopies come from the same place for the 700. i've never seen a canomod with the writing inside it altough the canomods i have seen have been a couple of years old granted. if indeed they are not the same then a few people are mis-informed jamie, myself included in that.

the funsuno one is thicker than the original for the 700's atleast.

My 700 went in a few weeks back due to a ball link failure and the stock canopy was fooked and it cut off one of the aerials on my NEW 14ch futaba rx so to be honest the canopy has very little bearing on the damage underneath its just luck,or bad luck in my case
