Align are discontinuing the grey items such as main gear wheels, auto wheels, front & rear torque gears etc, & these items are just proving hard to get even now.

So if you want em, grab em up now chappies.

Great news, probably means they are replacing the lot with something made of a decent plastic.

Mate, this is real. No more grey parts for the 600 nitro heli, not sure about the 700. Don't believe me, check out the Align site or contact your local hobby shop. Align are discontinuing the grey stuff & favouring the white. Too costly to produce both.

Perhaps you can provide the link to the Align site?

Edit: mind you, the colour of my heli and its bits are the least of my issues It could be day-glo orange and I'd still f*ck it up re: orientation.

After you phone either Midland heli, or Fast lads, I will graciously accept your apologies. The only reason I know is that I've tried to buy some spares & they've not been delivered with the above reason given. This reason was confirmed & after I checked with other suppliers, so it appears to be true.

Don't think it's a better quality plastic, just a generic colour - white. Don't go with much of my other spares bin stuff, so just bought a loads more.

As my daughter would say, grey & white looks sick!

Any idea if it's different material (i.e. maybe Align are using Swiss Gruyere instead of dutch Edam) ?

Certainly at Charmouth there were a lot of white gears being gotten through. I don't think it's a different grade of plastic, just a different colour.

On a scale of 0 to 3D, about 1.53 and counting (backwards at the moment...). Getting there though, 0.1D at a time!

Its all the same stuff, the grey plastic, the white plastic and all the screws are made from cheese. The type of cheese really makes no difference. By the way I just built my 500 and had no screws strip at all because i used allen wrenches made of Philadelphia...

Are you sure someone isn't pulling your chain?

LHS go by what the UK importers bring in. Seen/heard it before when they say something is discontinued when it isn't. What they mean is they aren't importing it any more. Maybe they're only going to import the white version.
