mattie, good on ye mate. i fear though it will be in vein. with all due respect bigger forums than this one (as i said, due respect) have commented on this and align if i recall released a statement saying they thought it was ok, i could be wrong there. subsequently the new main gear was released as a winter gear (lot of tosh).

what i'm getting at is align don't care, JK doesn't care (he was the problem at synergy apparently) so i think it's tough luck for us 700 owners, i don't like it but it's the usual for align.

    cheers

p.s i said bigger forums, not better.

The best way to create awareness would be for the Rags MHW/rotorsport etc to publish there first meet of the season Report pointing out that there were an inordinate amount of failures at Charmouth and that it has been aparent since last years 3DC that its not just isolated occurrences.

TBH thats probably not going happen either in case they upset a major advertiser + it takes 3 months for a review to appear.

2 main gears here and I expect more to come. Even with the waste-of-time CNC clutch block.

I now carry spares in my flight case.

Awesome heli, sh#te support from Align on this one.

I think Stu Smith did his on Sunday too............

          cheers

If this was the flight that I stood with him then yeah, it was awesome. My language was pretty choice on a few occasions!!! (Daisy cutting with 690's is taking the p#ss!!)

TBH there were so many good pilots its difficult to know where to look and who to watch sometimes.

I'm happy to call some of them mates.

mattie, the problem here is i don't think this is easily fixable. the "fix" imo is 3rd bearing blocks. they can't sell a bolt in kit for that obviously. i'd like to see a mod 1 gear from them which should "hide" the problem...again all imo ofcourse.

so what can align really do here? the proper fix is mod 1 with a 3rd block i'd suggest.

that said anything is a start and good luck with it.

                          cheers

Well I hold about as much hope as you guys do, but sometimes is just worth a try to see if we can get noticed.

My personal feelings are Three things

1, The quality of the main gear is not good enough. I think the whole frame work of it is too flimsy for a 90 gear. I tried out two gears the other day and they were both shaped like an egg and were not very siff at all.

2, As everybody said it should be a Mod 1 gear. However you can still get them to strip if.....

3, The gear meshing is incorrect. (this one I reckon is the key)

Sorry guys I'm not so sure it is a 3rd bearing block issue but I may be wrong.

I'm still on my first one believe it or not so I reckon I have got a fairly round gear. Actually my gear is now getting quite dirty so i might remove it and bolt it to a Plaque and make it the Align 700 trophy for the next competition
                            Cheers Matt

Now its your choice but if your looking for a way to give Align a nudge one element that may help is a actual domain to highlight the issues concerning the 700. Its one thing to have a bit press that hits one publication and then is gone but to have a domain on it. Now that sticks around a way bit longer. I can give you some space and hosting for it, if it gets people to actually switch on a light and make a cure rather than sticking head in sands or produce half baked late fixes.
                              Cheers
