  • Stripped torque tube gear

Today I with my 700 I stripped the little gear in flight (which mates with the autoration gear). Its a new one on me thats for sure! Was quite pleased I managed to auto the heli down with it piroetting. Was recently messing with piroetting circuits in phoenix, so that practice saved my ass for sure (as the heli was nose down when the gear stripped).

I have been suffering with some clicking from the heli, but last time I flew all the gear teeth were present and correct! Will strip the whole tail assembly to investigate. Anyone else had this happen?

Not had that happen but those gears (espescially the bevel gears) wear quite quickly.
