More beta testing then It just looks painfully inadequate to me, looks like it would suit a 450 or 500 fine but a 700

I agree a Mod 1 gear would be ideal but i am happy to go with what i am given for now.

The Micro Heli one is quite expensive we say but how does the price compare with other heli types Delrin gears,if memory serves me right the Sceadu Evo Delrin Main gear is crazily expensive so is the Microheli one really that bad a price?

Well, I tried hard in the cold weather this afternoon and I still couldn't strip the gear - must try harder tomorrow

To put it in some sort of context: -

Stock Trex main gear £12.13 (2no)

        Microheli Delrin main gear £25.99

        Synergy N9 main gear £29.35

I was going to use a Vibe 90 main gear as a comparison but its only £6.25 I wasn't expecting that

When flying today one of the club guys (trex-pedro) managed to strip his today.
Got the heli down safely enough but it was a clenching moment.
Deffo gonna change mine before I fly it again.

Right well ive ordered the CNC clutch bearing block form that guy over on HF. He says they will be in fastlads within a week or 2 tops. He also said mine would be here from the US in 7 - 10 so ive just ordered from him. Gonna chuck that in and go with the new align gear and see how i get on. If i strip any more then ill get the microheli gear unless anything elese comes on the market in the meanwhile.

            Cheers

Yup, mine went yesterday. What's the solution here guys? Just read over on the freak that even the microheli gears are stripping. Mine is grounded until you lot figure this out!

the microheli gear imho will help but not cure it. the problem is the clutch block is moving and possibly the lack of a 3rd bearing block.

                cheers

I have brought a pack of the old main gears(2 off),my original main gear looked a bit tired so i swapped it for a new one,i will do the same when this one does it too.

I am just treating it as a throw away item for now until a definite fix comes along.IMHO it needs to be Mod 1 along with the mentioned bearing block fixes.

Right well i literally just paid for the CNC metal block so will let you all know how it goes when it arrives. Just gonna try the normal gear when i fit it. Fastlads will have it in about 2 weeks and went to local club today to find another guy had stripped his gear also. Its definately a problem and just a matter of when its going to happens for you. Obviously some fly more aggressively than others so that will probably have alot to do with it.

Yeah be interested to see the outcome with standard gear but uprated block.
FWIW trex-pedro stripped when he loaded up the head heavily during quite agressive tic-tocs.

the ones i've seen ALWAYS let go doing tic tocs which leads us to think it's when the clutch and or main mast is moving doing so. mines have let go at 6 o clock in big ben and i've seen a video doing the exact same. the ones in my club have went with tic tocs i believe aswell.

again more proof the assy is moving, which bit is the million dollar question.

                        cheers

Thing is guys... i dont do anything like that. Im a sports flyer not a 3'der. All you'll get out of me is a few flips/rolls etc. Cant see that stressing it too much... either way its on its way now and is a descent upgrade regardless. Suppose ill just have to wait and see. 700 is grounded until it arrives anyways. Ill just fly the 600 instead

                          Cheers

how many gears have you stripped lee?

if your only doing easy going things i can only suggest you replace the bolts on the engine mount and clutch assy and mesh the gears. if you set the mesh i think you'll be ok mate.

                            cheers

This is the only gear i have stripped (but dont want to strip anymore). Dont get me wrong im loading up the head and stuff but it isnt exactly 3D. Mesh seemed spot on to me mate this is why i thought that the issue could actually be with the quality of the gears at first. The CNC clutch bearing block is a pre-caution regardless to be honest (besides it is a nice bit of bling too ). I take it you havent stripped any more gears?

                              Cheers
