  • Should I upgrade my servos...??

    Hi there

Having only had Hitec HS 5625MG servos in my 600nsp from day one my question is would I feel any benifit from fitting faster servos....?

    Hitecs 0.14s & 9.4kgs at 6 volts

    Swap for

    Align 0.07s & 10kgs at 6 volts

Id discribe my flying at hard sport / starting 3D (Ali & Ele tic-tocs starting piro flips - pie dish)......has anyone else recently upgreaded thier cyclic servos and felt it was money well spent....??

    Thanks
    Ken

Youll feel the difference I did in my Knight 3D, I didnt upgrade just to upgrade I needed servos for my 600 so they came out the knight then when I had enough money I got new servos for the knight and yes wow what a difference.

The question really is for me can I make use of that extra speed, one of the best 3D flyers we have locally used 3152's the cheep footaba digitals, and he can fly the pants off the heli. so my personnal opinion is have you reached the limit of what the servos can offer.

Of course this is from a reletive beginners point of view.
    All the best
    Tony.

        Ken.

Between the two servos you mention personally I wouldnt bother.

If you were using utter crap servos "ie" Futaba 148 / 3001 etc then yes upgrade but look at the figures you have posted regarding speed and kgs.

I hardly think its worth it to be honest.

Everyone has an opinion, That's mine.

Never used those type of hitecs but I can vouch for the align DS servos. Lots on here slate them yet very few of those who do have ever used them.
I run them in my 600 pro & they are very fast & acurate enough for my skill level.
As Tim pointed out the torque difference of the two types you have chosen to compare is very similar so on torque alone not worth buying.
The speed of those Aligns though are double the speed of the hitecs.
I beleive you will indeed notice a difference if you fitted the aligns.
The point of wether it would benefit you as a flier is much harder for me to answer but they certainly made a difference for me.
Just my two pence worth mind as a user of the align DS 610 & DS 620 series servos.
