I can't believe you did that mate. If you need to do something like that use head loaders and strap the heli to a garden bench or something. Even so you'll be lucky to see any movement in this weather, what temp did you have set, mines at 90 degrees and I barely seen any movement yesterday if yours is any higher your not going to see any movement. My sensor was fitted with epoxy and it's been fine now for 8 months. You must remember that it will only help with a well setup engine not mask a badly tuned one.

Danny, That is seriously dangerous mate.

For the sake of others and young members reading this please don't do that again.

BB no probs was thinking that but last time i bench tested it blew the tail gears.

YD temp set at 100 which is the minimum

But with all the probs with the termisters why have csm not done anything about it ....

Can't believe you did that Dan!! That's crazy mate!

You need to get the heli flying and get some load on it to test it.
To be honest mate I wouldn't worry about it till you've got plenty more time in the air with it.

I'd echo the comments about testing technique, I do this with 450 size electric & smaller but........

I would guess you have the original temperature sensor, there is a modified version available now which has the surface mount thermistor that's used soldered to a small circuit board, this does not fail if mounted correctly. Andy has it in stock at Real Raptors, http://www.realraptors.co.uk/shop/in...oducts_id=2646, this will do the job and is best mounted in silicone RTV

              Hindsight is a great thing.....

Anyway it was the production sensor that failed , it was fitted with csm,s rtv silicone then left for 12hrs to cure before testing ....

now i,m thinking of doing it the finless way i.e snipping end of sensor heat shrink and seal with epoxy then fixing to head but unshure ?

Who has done it this way ?

Danny 100dgs is not the lowest 90 dgs is no led's on and the sensor light on steady will give you this setting. As I mentioned above even flying reasonably fast circuits, climb outs etc may not be enough to lift the temp enough. Make sure that the engine is running well for these sorts of temps before fitting the linkage and expect to have to change it once the temperatures start to lift. I fitted mine with a two part heat transfer epoxy and it's been fine, however a mate has gone through 2 servos and 2 sensors.

Setting the target temperature from the manual

The 4 LEDs show the target temperature:
                90 deg.C No Led's
                100 deg. C 1 Led
                110 deg. C 2 Led's
                120 deg. C 3 Led's
                130 deg. C 4 Led's
