  • Guess who dinked there shiny new 600NSP?

    Doh!!!

Nothing bad just a stupid mistake not sure whey but I flicked in to idle 1 (10-+) sitting in a hover about 3 foot up and it hit the deck faster than I could react on a cold day.....

Broke a landing strut and shredded the 2 front pinion gears on the torque tube.

I have looked on Fast Lads, Model Heli Store and Simply Trex all the gears are grey not white and they only stock the 3D landing struts not the standard?

Can anyone tell me what the difference is?

Also the gears seem a little fragile the tail rota only nicked the ground have I got the tail blades to tight in the grips?

Midland sell both Grey and while gears and 3 sets of landing struts standard Black, 3D White and H60111 : New 3D Cross Struts (2) - T-Rex 600/700

Which looks like the ones with the 600 NSP can any one confirm which ones are correct?

Sorry to hear of your mishap.

I only ever take off and fly in idle up so there is one less thing to think about and go wrong.

I spool up in normal with the Nitro's but Idle up for the 450 (set to soft start of course). Once I reach mid stick on the ground (zero pitch) I engage Idle up and off I go.

      Hope its not too bad.

      Cheers

Make sure your pitch is at 0 degrees mid stick in all flight modes. That way you wont have any sudden pitch changes when flicking into idle up.

Yeah, the torque tube gears are easy to strip and always worth keeping a bag in your flightbox just in case (Align sell them in bags of 3 sets). I can change a set in less than 20 mins now after some heavy landings practicing autos!!

          Mark happy new year..

I also fly my 450 in idle 1 with soft start but I am running the 600 in and thus it is running rich and bogs easly...

It is not too bad the bits are under £15 delivered so its not a big issue.

            Pete,

I am going to adjust the normal pitch curve once the motor is run in.

I have no idea why I event put it in to idle up.

Just cant help my self flicking switches....

I take it there is no difference between the grey and the white gears?

Its the new 3d ones you want for the NSP. The other 2 come with the 600 E, black sports ones and white 3d ones which are basically just the same but white (must be for orientation... easier to see white undercarriage). Never noticed how the undercarriage on alot of helis are white which is totally diffrent to the frame (even know they probably look better matched)? Thats probably why.

                  Lee,

Thats what I thought so I have ordered them from Midland with the white gears...

Should be good to go in a day or so...
