and on the cleaning the heli up note.

get one of those micro fiber cloths (the one you'de clean your camera lens with....... well not the same one but you know what i mean ) jessops do a good size one for a couple of quid (10x10 inches)

you don't even need any detergent if you use one of those cloths.
it lifts off all the gunk with a single wipe.
leave it in your flightbox and clean up at the field

give the cloth a wash every month or so and you're sorted

I use wet wipes to clean up the crud and a microfibre cloth to dry it off.

put it this way would electric powered formula 1 be as exciting?
Well it wouldn't be any more dull than F1 currently is. Gave up watching that years ago, rallying is where it's at, or at least it used to be, back in the glorious group B days.

I have actually been using a micro fibre cloth, not the expensive jessops ones though, you can get the same cloths in tesco / asda / morrisons for much less

Wet wipes, that's a good idea!, will try and pick some of those up in the week, also good for when you need to make an emergency dump in the bushes, got to be better than a nitro soaked cloth

Sao..as you now have a Nitro that you can fly back to back flights all day, I just re-fuel, wipe and go..You are only forcing dirt into brgs and poss degreasing them. The Big cleans come at repair time.

Erm as busterboy pointed out I've been polluting the pot here since 2004
                  But thanks anyway

That's pretty much what I am doing, no spraying of detergents just wipe and go. I have to say I am enjoying this fly re-fuel, wipe and fly again malarky

I've been out again with it today and started leaning out the engine bit by bit, seems to get better on every flight
I've done the first 5 Litres through the engine now and not had any trouble starting, this is unprecedented for me and nitro engines, maybe, just maybe I will become a full convert to the noise, smell and mess!

I have to say the big old T-700 flies beautifully, smooth stable and seems to have lots of power even though it's still running a bit rich. Was quite gusty today and a lot of turbulance off the tree line behind out pit area but the big ole heli doesn't seem too bothered by it even compared to a 50 it feels much more stable.

Oh and to keep Phil happy here's the long awaited photo....

                  Fits like a glove

Well I have now got the T-700 pretty much tuned up today with the help of a friend, still need to set up the mid and low speed needles to get it spot on but I am really liking these smelly, noisy, messy nitro engines!
In fact you could say I am a total convert, my electrics just dont get a look in at the moment! Should I fly the T-500 nah lets blast the 700 about again then I won't have to wait for packs to charge

Heres some piccies from todays session

Can you tell what it is yet?

                        That's right it's a V2 shaped canomod!

                        The Swiss Family Align
Can you spot the odd one out though?

Finally, because it was a new canopy, the ritual head garment had to be worn...
