  • Bit's left over ???

Anyone else have some thin washers left over when they built their Trex 700 ??. I've been through the manual again last night, and I can't see where they would be used.

What has not helped is the fact I built the majority of it 2 months ago, but have not had time to finish it all off. I'm just replacing all the ball links at the moment, but these left over bit's have me concerned.

I can't remember what bag they came out of, but will check the sizes later and post them on here.

Really hoping to get the machine in the air over Christmas, I need the space on the table for one thing !!!.

    Cheers,

    Simon

hi mate not sure if this will help, align do put spares in the kits but i had a simaler problem on the nsp 600, they turned out to be extra shims (if needed )they go either side of the (err not sure or the proper name)elevator rocker arm incase there is any sideways play or binding of the bearings

Mine was the same mate, i think Align just put them in as spares in case you loose 1 or 2.

The 700 kit also comes with 3 different thicknesses of main shaft washers - could it be these?
You usually only use one on the shaft (if you can get one in ).

the thin smaller ones are as said the spacers on the shaft for the A frame arm, where the external servo link unit is on the outside of each frame, these are used if when both bolts are done up each side of the shaft there is sideways play, hope you understood that

They are not the ones for the main shaft, mine was a tight fit without any of the shims.

Will check the A frame for play. I'll check the sizes again tonight as well. To be honest, I'm sure the last time I couldn't even find that particular size of washer used anywhere in the build, but they definitely came out the box.

            Thanks for the responses,

            Regards,

            Simon

Ps. I'm not looking forward to removing all the links and balls tonight. Really wanted to leave it as standard, with the Align links but for 30 quid I couldn't take the risk.
            Cheers,
            Simon

I think you will find they are the shims for taking out the play in the elevator arm axle, they dont show at all in the destructions.
              All the best
