  • B****y Annoyed

Just took out my 2 600's to test after re doing the heads and the bearings on one of the engines.

Fired up the one with the new bearings only for it to pretty much shake itself to bits.

Blades dug into the grass and it flipped over, managed to get Throttle hold on before it went too funky on me.

On first inspection it looks like the boom has fractured where it slots into the main body and then slipped out of the casing. I know these things happen from time to time and it's part of the game, but its B*****y annoying when it happens all the same.

More important, Why was it shaking Aidi.??

I'd be more curious as to why because its gonna happen again when you re-build it unles you find something.

Hard luck mate, I'm sure you will have some answers to this shortly.

THis is the first 600 i bought. Only thing i have done to it is change the bearings in the engine. Its never crashed so i would think bent shafts are out of the equation.

Its mainly the tail end that seems damaged. Just replaced the tailboom and TT Gears. Old boom looks like it might have factured at the clamp...

I think i will inspect the engine too. However, would be suprised if it would even run if there was a problem with the bearings or the way i put it back together. Only real expense this time is the blades. Only one part needed which i didnt have in my drawer which is the tail pitch control arm.

Its pretty much ready to go again.. so ill get the blades and control arm and try it again.

Gutted mate. I may have the tail part you need but not home till tomorrow evening. Sounds very odd though mate. Have you checked all the head links just in case one popped off during spool up? At a bit of a loss for suggestions TBH as your helis are usually meticulous.

well one of the pitch links was missing which is not uncommon, but its one area which is suspect could have failed or the link popped off. Oh well!

ON a positive note, the one which i put in the other week, and have recently done the head on etc flew fine so that was some consolation!

Well engine all seems ok, so dont think its a problem there. However, the fan is missing a gov magnet.. I guess that would explain the erratic power output just before it went over.

                      Sorry to hear this Aidi.
Just had a look through my extensive 600 spares box but couldn't find the part your missing!
                      Sorry.
Still I'm sure things will be back together soon.
