Pop Quiz for you and OUCH!!!!

So here's the quiz...

1 Month (ish) only trex 600 nsp with a JR 770 gyro what do you get?

Apparently you get VERY fast Piro rates... So I decided to try it out today... Gingerly increasing the speed of my piro's "just to see" with 50% exp on rudder...


So what happens????

Well the piro rate is SO HIGH, that the G-force pulls the battery out mid flight!


Heli came down the right way up, but I had no control! A very very very big thank you to Pipistrelli, who had a blanket in his car to throw over the out-of control heli to stop the blades long enough to pinch the fuel line...

Damage assesment so far:
1x main blades (destroyed)
1x fly-bar
1x tail rotors (1 has a nic from hitting tail grip)
1x front gear set for torque tube
1x link of head that snapped!
1x cluch liner needed!

Thats it! Got off VERY light! (I think I'm still in shock!)

Oh and I trashed the Protech well and truely, went inverted and forgot to engage idle up... (OUCH!!!)

But all an all, even considerign to 2 dead heli's I had a fab day!

I'm drowning my sorrow while I watch F1 now....

Thanks, it was a brilliant afternoon. You are right though, I think I had all your luck today. When I checked my idle up settings, i found I didn't have a V curve, just a normal linear one. I just recharged my Rx pack and it took 1800 mah and its only rated at 2200!!

Considering the 8 or so flights pulling loops, and throwing the Raptor around its all worked out really well.

It was good to me you, hopefully do some more flying if we get some more good weather. Hope your repair bill isn't too high!

PS The GP had me on the edge of my bar stool too, nearly fell off in the excitement!!

I'd make sure you have the boom pinned at both ends as the piro rate can throw the boom completely out

Don't forget to check your lipo too, it looked ok, but because it had been thrown clear then make sure it charges ok?
