  • Trex 600 Nitro Clunk Tubing

    evening all
i decided to do some work on my helis 2day
so i decided to change all my fuel tubing on my nitro's
i removed the clunk tube from my trex 600 tank, and to my horror the clunk was only on by about half a mil
i reckon one more flip and it would have come off,
all i can say is the align clunk tube is pants, anyone who owns a trex 600 and has fitted the standard tube i suggest you check it or bin it and use some decent clunk tube

ok that's my rant for today , but the consequences don't bear thinking about

    cheers

To be fair most clunk tubing is rubbish that comes in any kits i'd recommend changing any tubing supplied as its normally cheap and won't last long

Raptor kits suffer similar issues for example

I've put a small piece of fuel tube at teh ends of every fuel line, including clunk... i.e. double layer of pipe....

        Hopefully this will help!

          Hi

After the last flight of the day as well as running your engine dry refill the tank to at least half with fresh fuel.
The reason for this is the same as why you run the engine dry, burning nitro produces nitric acid and this goes up the pressure line into the tank mixes with the fuel and eats the fuel line.
I use a fuel magnet in my models and you have to flush the fuel in the same way other wise it eats the foam on the magnet, since doing this my clunk lines last ages.

          Cheers
