I've got two 600N's with over a 1000 flights a piece using the the Align 6Amp BEC which uses a similiar micro switch. The only potential problem is the wiring is low quality and prone to fatigue fracture where its soldered to the circuit board.

A good squirt from a Hot Glue gun does wonders to supporting the wires where they exit the heatshrink.

Arizona...top notch piece of kit. The one thing I dont like is the Pin Flag Switch..if the pin is accidently knocked out it switches on the power. My mate just suffered this and burnt out two new DS 8915's on the way to the field as the blades where folded back. I've had two go a bit iffy connection wise too.

The easy fix is to use a switch to turn it on/off as if it fails it powers the radio up as the pin flag does. cheers Brian

Hardly a comparable analogy Colin, how about your wife and several of her friends have the same issue with michelin tyres? I'll bang the old 2in1 on ebay, should get a bit more than £2 for it, some people seem to like them.
I never leave my batt connected in transit so should have no probs there, cheers for the heads up tho Brian. Was it just the pin flag part you had iffy connection?

Sorry to butt in on this but I thought it better than starting a new thread. The wire for my glow sheared off from the regulator today and I had to use a good old glow stick to start it.
My question is, as the glow is a bit of a pain to get to with the canopy on do I A) Replace the whole regulator at £34.00 or B) Go for the Thunder Tiger remote glow at £4.99.
Is there any adverse affect in the red wire being missing from the regulator and using the TT remote glow?
As always any advice appreciated, thanks

Get the remote glow and solder it to the 2 in 1. Or even better, just solder on the remainder of your existing lead with crock clip.

There's no wire showing out of the 2 in 1 it's broken clean off where it exits the regulator. If I remove the shrink wrap can I get to where this wire was and replace it with a new one?

Not sure which version you have, on the version where the 2in1 is in a plastic case, you can just remove the 4 screws on the back and the glow wire is just soldered to the PCB inside.

The little on/off & glow ignitor switch is in a a soft plastic see thorugh sleeve, no hard plastic case but otherwise the same as you've posted. Guy at my LHS seems to think he'll be able to solder a new wire on, hopefully with a Traxxas car glow plug cap on it rather than the cra**y crocdile clip that comes with it.They're like a mini spark plug cap so they grip the glow plug better

Sounds like you have the V1 (I have the same).

I'm personally not keen on the "mini spark plug cap" as I find them really fiddly to get on and off with my sausage fingers!

                  Cheers,

Same here Rob, A pain to get them fitted for me, Had to use "Snipe long nose" pliers to fit the cap.

                    Croc clip is much easier.

The croc clip concerns me though as it seemed to pop off so easy and when I put it back on it didn't seem too secure. I'm just a bit cautious and would rather have something that is a little more secure.

As long s it stays on to start it. It doesn't mater if it falls off during the flight - its not critical. When you press the glow and get both the lights you know if it is correctly connected.

I've never had trouble with the croc clip, unless I've been taking the canopy off and on.

the rubber boot caps are a good idea but I have had more of them fail than I have croc clips!... croc clips for the win

No problems here, I have mounted mine under the battery/radio tray - ok so its hard to see the LEDs so I have 2 off flight battery packs to swap out during the day, but its away from the fuel and easily accessed through the bottom of the canopy.

I've got a glow extension on the side frame of my Raptor 50 and use the croc clip clipped onto that. Easy to remove the clip and use a glow wand if i need to.
