600 E Motor upgrade

Hi Guys,

I have a Trex 600 e with a BL 600L motor using 6 cells. Its not very powerful at all. Has anyone upgraded? What motor or ESC did you use. All advice gratfully received!

Ive got a Zpower Z30a 1110kv 16tooth on a standard 75a align ESC, 6s pack. Only hovered it myself at around 80% throttle and its sweet.

Previous owner demo'd it ans it pitch pumped nicely! Supposed to be a v good moter, didnt get hot at all after my flying as its an out runner, and lipo doesnt cook either.

Check out my complete 600e for sale without servos/gyro and maybe make an off if you want an upgrade, may split it if theres more interest

trouble with more power on 6s is that you will be killing the packs even more than you are already.

to get good power and longevity you really need to be looking to go to 8s with good quality packs.

Yes ade has a good point there... ill certainly be considering an 8s revo setup when i return

I would gladly forfit a couple of minutes duration on my 600e to get some more power out of it.

The 600L stock motor is garbage.

thanks Guys for your comments. I run a Logo 500 on 6 cells and its great! Naively thought a 600e would offer a bit more. I already have a number of 6 cells. 8 cells, is into yet more money, thought a £100 upgrade of the motor might help. keep ya ideas coming!

For 6s the best is the Zpower Z30a 1000kv (blue not red) with a 16t Logo .7 pinion, I ran it for a while on my 600 till I saw the Z50 780kv on 8s then I converted, loads more power and longer flight times - plus what Ades said, more volts = less current draw = cooler running = longer pack life.

I also have run a Z-power 30a for some flights which is a good upgrade. However once again as above the higher cell count you run with, the better. The trex 600e was design with 6s in mine but to be honest it just doesn't cut it with this setup. It a bit of a pack wrecker.

I'm running a Z50a 560kv on 10s which is x2 4200 5s Trex 500 packs. Not only do I get good power I can get 6 minute 3d flight times from it as well. Same weight as the 8s packs or there about. This IMO would be the way to go. The only other thing I would like to try would be a Scorpion motor on this setup.

Mines been well used too id guess... but i have a pinion with it lol :P How much were you asking for yours mattie?!
