  • Align governor problems

    Please help.
I've just about finished my T-Rex600n and everything seems set up well EXCEPT the Align governor:
The position of the sensor on the instructions that came with it indicate it should be on the outside of the right hand side of the main frame above the fan with the L shaped bitpoking inwards. I am finding that within a range of less than 0.5mm movement of the sensor it goes from not detecting the magnets at all as the pass to detecting one magnet just before then just afer it passes ie flashing 3x per 360 degree rotation of the fan. I have found a position where it now blinks once as each magnet passes but I am worried that if there is the tiniest bit of movement due to vibration during flight then it will get the counting wrong or will hit the fan as it is so close. Are all sensors this senstive to small positional changes or do you think there is a problem with the way I've installed it or just a dodgy sensor?
I've not used a governor before by the way
    Any thoughts most appreciated
    Thanks

Have you mounted your magnets so one is N-pole up and the other S-pole up? If you have both poles pointing the same direction it won't work!

1 flash per fan rev is good! Only 1 magnet triggers the light to go off!

Robgt has written some help for you on www.50tuning.com:

      http://www.50tuning.com/articles/tre...nor-sensor.asp

      http://www.50tuning.com/reviews/elec...0-governor.asp

The magnets should be one N pole up and one N pole down. Then it will see only one switch per rev I think. This may be your problem.
Mine worked great first time, just by followng the intructions and I get non of the overspeeding Rob mentions in his review. It just works, and is actually working better then the revlock 20 in my knight depite driving only a cheap analogue sanwa servo.

i run 2 align governors with tail servos, and they are great!! found they lack a bit with slower servos the fast servo just helps out imo

          Thanks everyone
Problem all sorted now - it was my error - what with the magnets pinging all over the place I'd ended up putting them with the same pole up! I've removed one & re-inserted the other way up & all is now well.
          Apologies for my incompetence!
