im eagerly awaiting the 3d flying with it. As im sure most of you know a turboshaft (helicopter) engine is loads more powerful than any comparable piston engine. So if wren have got their sums right this could be the 3d heli to end them all as it were.

Why would the 700 be underpowered, its the engine that would be underpowered not the airframe, this could apply to any 90 size.

will a turbine 3d??? i thought the centrifugal forces caused turbine blade stall! but you have to admire their tenacity they were quick building that, and you cant beat that turbine noise

Nice lol. The noise alone is worth the price that would cost

Wonder if he can 3D it?

hmm never thought of that ron, but im sure wren can come up with a system that eliminates any stalling incured by high g after all an f15 can pull 10g or summat similar iirc and theyre jet propelled

According to a pretty good book on the F-15 (Combat aircraft: F-15, ISBN: 0-86101-677-7) that I am looking at right now, the A and C models have G load factors of +7.2g and -3g, the E model (strike eagle) has a load factor of +9g and -3g.

Anyway, there is another thing to consider, since an average turbine is spinning at arround 160,000rpm, thats a lot of precesional force being applied to it......

I would be concerned about its ability to take piro flips or chaos or any other high g twisting manuvoure.
