  • 700 first proper flight

Well the 700 had it's first proper flight today, well impressed, climbs for england and bags of power.
Did have a couple of minor issues, one being the boom support came loose so had to re-locktight it and then left for a while to dry, seemed to do the trick.
Most irritating problem was overspeeding though, couldn't get it to stop doing it no matter how low i put the govener so i need to check that out tomorrow and make sure it is reading the magnet, or the magnet hasn't fallen out.
did do a little tweeking of the engine, but with the overspeeding was a bit restricted as i kept having to load it up all the time. autos for england as well

Mine was overspeeding too with the AR7100 Revmax working James.

Dunno how to combat that but as you say these things have awesome power.

I have read several times now about different people having their boom supports coming loose [cough]Trevor Burley at Goole[/cough].

    Glad your liking it James.

Will have a play with the overspeeding issue tomorrow.
Well impressed with the airframe though, boom support came loose as i was doing tick-tocks and notice the tail starting to shake, was fine later on though and didn't come loose again, will keep an eye on it though.
No way near as much vibs as i had on the synergy so well happy with that.
Just need to sort the gov out and away we go, will get a few head dampers in and change often to be sure, saw adie smiths today minus half the boom and trashed vblades so i think i will be safer rather than sorry.

Glad you are enjoying it James.

I'm still loven' mine. I too had a problem with the boom support coming loose at the frame end. My theory on this was the hole that is drilled into the frames are too small therefore wiping off all the loctite when you put the screws in. I filled the bar with loctite first when I put it back together and that seems to have done the trick.

The canopy grommet inserts I glued in with CA and all have them came loose. Now there are epoxied in.

I put a gallon through it yesterday and 3/4 today. Still working
        Cheers Matt

Well figured out what the over speeding problem was though strange.
Was because i was using a hitec servo on the throttle, being that they are reversed signal from the futabas i couldn't get it to act correctly on the gov, the servo would go the wrong way, but worked fine in normal operation.
Re-binded the reciever to make sure the default to close was ok, but if it lost transmitter would go to fully open.
Anyway, after alot of messing around, tried a futaba in there to see what happened and every thing was fine, direction default was correct
Anyone else had this problem? First time i have used a hitec on the throttle, well did!
