  • TREX 700 Gov sensor mount suggestion

A friend and I have came up with a simple idea to mount the sensor on the T-Rex 700. If, like me, you don`t want to use the align gov that comes with the kit, even with the synergy CSM mount, it is still a ball ache to fit. However, just use one of the plastic hexagonal bolts (H60037T) that is used on the 600n fan housing (£2.84 for 5) (you will need to shorten) and put the sensor of your choice on that with heat shrink. Then drill a small hole through the top of the plastic clutch bell bearing block holder and attach the sensor to it. You can get it so it sits exactly above the magnet. PERFECT. This is so easy to do and saves any hassle later on.

I have attached 2 photo of what I have done so it should help if I ain`t explained myself properly.

No doubt people have done this already, but just wanted to offer it as a suggestion as it has save me loads of time and I remember the hassle I had with the 600n

Nice idea, but I'd advise against this for those instances when you blow a clutch or the clutch slips etc - the governor will try to increase throttle more and more because the bell is no longer turning as expected and unless you're quick on the throttle hold you could blow up your engine...

    Neat idea though!

Are the magnet holes pre-drilled, or did you do it yourself?

Mr Manager the magnet holes are pre-drilled in the bell...

I quite like the idea Matt

If you use the std postioning its as likely to take out the sensor either way if the clutch explodes.

I dont think its as big a problem as you think Rob unless you plan on running with no blades

I think reaching for hold or switching out of Idle up is the best option.. Brian

You're probably right Brian, I'm just less keen on the idea of attaching to the bell when it's indirectly linked to the motor (via clutch) - which can slip etc causing unwanted throttle changes...

But hey, if it works for you then go for it!!

          Cheers,
          Rob

I just went for the standard CSM synergy mount and took a few minutes and because the clutch doest move up and down (like the engine in the 600n) its a case of fit once and forget me thinks
