  • Align carbon paddles v plastic ones....

OK, called in last week to Real Raptors (nice chap!) and bought myself a set of the new white Align carbon paddles, mainly because i just did not like the look of the plastic ones on my 600 nitro pro, question is this...

Are they supposed to make it more responsive on the cyclic? I have fast-ish servo's anyway (Futaba 9452's) but i can not honestly notice any difference apart from it looks better!

Just doing mild 3d at the mo, a bit of inverted hovering, loops, rolls etc.

    Hi

There probably isn't much of a difference in performance to be honest, not tried the white paddles yet, the older black Align carbon paddles work well but aren't much quicker than the std plastic ones, the plastic ones are actaully not bad at all it's just guys don't like the look of plastic so much or the stick on covering.

    Cheers

move the mixing arms to the outer hole that will liven it up

I still have the arms on the inner holes nightstalker, forgot about that one! I will move them over and give it another try!

Is it a big difference when flying between the two mixing arm positions?

That deffinatley livens things up a bit.
As for the paddles don't make a hugh difference but are more accurate than the stock plastics, if you want it alot quicker then would have to go for stubz paddles

Paddle differences Std & Black/White Carbons

I would disagree partially with whats been said about the Paddles.

I flew 2 x 600N's back to over testing these changes and the Black Align Carbons are quicker and sharper than the Stock Plastic paddles... no doubt about that. Not hugely so but enough to put a big Smile on your face.

NOTE:- The New white Align Carbons (In a Super Pro Kit) are NOT the same as the black ones! They are from a different Mould and have a more rounded leading edge. ( They also are very slightly broader, and look to have a thicker profile) Also end on there appears to be a small dia metal rod placed through the leading edge to keep the CG forwards all promoting stability.

So Black Carbons Quickest.. and due to the above differences The Whites will likely fly very close to the Std plastics and certainly slower than the originial Align Blacks.

Pick your Poision and Enjoy Brian

I believe Align have changed supplier of their paddles - meaning no more black paddles?
Could be wrong here, but this is what I have heard.

                Cheers,

Its weird with Align..I've got one 600N from the very first batch, came with white tail blades...Then they changed to black...now were back to white again.

With the white Paddles I assumed It was just a colour change but they are really thick/blunt on the leading edge.

Tails were originally black on the electrics also, as mine was an early kit with the 600L motor

OK here we go a piccy of the Align Black Carbons against the SuperPro Whites.

Note the much sharper entry on the airfoil on the blacks. Also on the Whites you can see the small dia rod that runs through the span in front of CG point.

I cant comment on how accurate the weights are but apparently the Whites come in at about 17g against 12g for the blacks.. Brian
