the fun begins tomorrow morning. this is a production kit so this is what people will be getting. the weather looks terrible for weekend so not likely will be flying it sunday as planned.
You lucky git enoy the build and make sure u upload lots of pics of the build in progress, don't do a me and come back in 4 hours with one pic of it fineshed
word on street is 3 weeks (ish) till kits are in uk and also there is a VERY small number of them in first batch. i was told the batch after this small one is actually the large one but it will be in september.
perhaps bob can clarify all those points for people but thats what i was told anyway by various people.
well 11 hours solid and it's nearly ready for the off. i had too many niggles with one thing and another to get it flying tomorrow. i had a couple of problems that collectively took 2-3 hours of messing about to get right.
1. the main gear jesus bolt was stripped out the box (all head parts are prebuilt but loose, some twat horsed the jesus bolt up and subsequently ruined it)
2. both booms in the kit wouldn't fit. when fitted the tail was not close to horizontal so a dremel sorted that one out. of note the carbon boom is VERY fragile at the ends. i can't see it lasting too long tbh but we shall see.
3. i do not like the clutch/hub assembly as it's impossible to put a dial anywhere on it. that said it has zero adjustment so if it's wrong yer buying a new one anyway.
4. once again the gov mounting is an afterthought and a good hour was spent swearing at the heli and in general trying to fit the damn thing. anyone getting one i would fit the gov when the frames are still apart so you can space it correctly. the align gov looks like it should bolt right in but i went with the revlock and used a csm bracket from the synergy.
everything else went together well and i'm running a very light setup. i bought a set of digi kitchen scales today and they show it at 9.7lbs with everything on it minus fuel.
setup-
spartan gyro/jr8900 servo
8915 ccpm servos
hitec 65mg throttle
reliaswitch (prolly going to swap it for reactorx or the arizona i have spare but wanted to keep this light)
2600mah fromeco (probably looking at 5 flights max but hey...i said i want it light)
os91 shz pump/reg
hatori sb17
revlock 20
i will be adding a carbsmart so that will add a little when done. i have not put a pitch guage on it yet so not sure of the range. will find out tomorrow.
