First flight!!

Finally saw my new bird in action today as final set ups were completed! Very... very exciting.

A big thank you to James (Moonmanflyer) for setting her up for me and having the massive danglies needed to test hover in massive 25+ mph gusts in the local park!!! there were some eye watering moments while James successfully landed her in the sudden sqwarl!!

Cheers James.. look forward to some serious flying action very soon.

Cheers for the kind words Mark, Yeh those sudden winds came out of no where, a bit scary for a moment, one minute calm, next minute being blown sideways, roll on the summer and lets get some serious flying in, with out the gale force winds

Its been peeing down with rain nearly all day today and by the time I finished work it was dark. still maybe over the weekend will get a flight ( no chance with the forecast I have seen)

Erm... no! it's safely sat in my living room looking very pleased with itself!!

Do't think many people will be flying today!! saw a police chopper over town earlier and that was being blown about a bit!!

Can't seem to get the vid on my phone over to my laptop yet, will try again tonight. showed the girls at work and they said the engine must be knackered cos of all the smoke..... Kids!

I reckon this Thursday for my first go on the sticks all being well with the weather. My starter should have turned up and i have the day off

Just watching James fly it yesterday made me nervous!! I'd better take some clean underwear when i have my first go!!!!

I can't wait though... three months of saving, building, reading, watching you tube, passifying the pregnant wife!!! and of course hours of phoenix!!

I think I'm ready... the buzz will be when i first put it back on the deck in one piece and quickly turn everything off... have to get over the first flight worries of stoving it. Like those poor buggers who only win a penny on deal or no deal!

Can't let that be me!!!!

You will be fine Mark, i have seen you on the phoenix and you have the ability.
But i have to admit, the first time i flew my 600 i was a complete wreck, but afterwards i had a smile from ear to ear.

I'm getting confident on the sim and trying to keep it real i.e not pratting about so when i fly for real i go through similar motions.

Had another look over the 600 earlier and it's still sounding strange on full rudder on the bench. I guess in flight i won't be using that much rudder so won't strain the servo too much but i might get you to re check next time i see you. I don't want to mess with the set up until i'm profficient with the systems!

My next task is to learn how to master the "back office" on the DX7. Too busy using it on the sim at the mo though!!!

Yeh not sure about that adjustment, but i think i might have an idea, if you get the chance pop it over again, i think it might need to get turned off and back on again for the new settings to register, i am sure we can figure it out.

Congrats ... When i got let loose with my nitro from a little elec it was oh my god what am i doing .... first time hover was such a buzz .. same as each progression ya do its a new thing to add hehe
