  • Flybar paddles new build

I have just started building my 600N pro and nearing completion of the head assembly,

The grub screws for the paddles are way too small. are these needed or will the tension of the thread be enough. The manual says optional but i want to be sure!

Are you sure you havent used the correct grub screws elsewhere.

They are only tiny screws that are used for the paddles so where the "way too small" ones have appeared from is a mystery..

I would certainly seek out some grub screws of the correct size and fit them.
If they decide to rotate when doing manouvres it might just be enough to send your heli crashing to the ground if it catches you out.

I always find these grub screws on paddles a waste of time.
They chew out the soft plastic even when done up very loosely.
Get yourself some thin cyano super glue & use that to stop the paddles twisting out of true in flight.

Thre holes in the paddles are much bigger and the only other grubs supplied were already in place (loosely) where the flubay is held to the head lighned up to the recesses in the flybar. These would seem a better size, maybe they included the wrong size for thr paddle end!?

The real small grub screws are for holding the skids in place!

How correct you are, Ive been sat here racking my brain where the small ones go.

A bit of CA glue when you put the grub screws in will help but to be honest and soon as you tweek them up they strip the threads in the soft plastic anyway, not the best design in the world to be fair
A tiny ammount of epoxy glue on the shaft when putting them on will help hold them but remember to set the lenght and angle of the panel horizontal dead inline with the flybar carrier before the glue goes off.

You will probably find it's the holes in the paddles that are oversize, the paddles hat came with my trex where. Bought a new set and they where fine.

I reckon your right... the holes are too big, grub screws are correct!

Might be persuaded to go carbon and save the fuss!!!!!
