  • Where to mount the Align 2-1 switch unit

I have a 600 pro and puzzled where to mount the switch/indicator unit so that the leds can be seen, anybody got the same config and can give me some ideas

    thanks

    Hi Gary,

Not much help, but mine is towards the back on my Raptor

I have seen some on the 600 which have them mounted between the fuel tank and the large opening for the engine, check out rimryder for more details.

Mine is like this only stuck on more square. Rob had been on the pop I think.

its outside the canopy, and away from the hot side (exhaust).
Only worry is a fuel splash when filling (or a fuel leak).

Take a read of Robgt's build thread at 50tuning.com

Mine is the same as moyesboy`s.
Think it is the best position for the switch.

Just got my battery and reg the opposite way round.

With the switch where it is, you can see the lights easily so you know how your battery is.
Just set it down side on or hover side on and they are on plain view.

It's attached using velcro and had twisted a little bit

Thanks guys....I figured that it was best there but was concerned about fuel splashes. The other place I thought was the leg of the undercarriage but it would look a bit twanky If you think its ok I'll follow suit and place where you guys did.

            cheers

Mine is also mounted here with velcro and no probs with oil (yet!) - mounted with the mini switch on the side nearest the tank and not on the bottom (as I have seen) so there's no chance of low passes on long grass snagging and switching it off (cause yeah I do those all time LOADS )

                  Hi,

Noobie - apologies if this has already been covered.

I was thinking of covering the wires with a rubbery glue - Evostik or similar - to support the wires to stop / cushon them breaking on the bend of the wire. As I am not a tidy person this will also seal any holes in the plastic shrink wrap, which on my switches has gaps where the wires come out, thus sealing from oil / water / muck etc. Any suggestions on something better than Evostik? I did think of hot glue, but not sure if this will damage the PCB.

Would there be any harm in extending the wires to allow placing of the PCBs a little higher, towards the rear perhaps?

BTW - My Align 7.4 1900Mah battery charged to 8.4V and meter verifies this. Is it OK to connect to the 2:1, which says 7.4V?

Sorry for all the questions, but any replies much appreciated.

                  Regards, Phil

All 7.4V LiPos will be 8.4V when fully charged and under no load, so it's perfectly fine to connect it or any other 2cell LiPo to the 2-in-1.

Any LiPo cell is 3.7V nominally, but fully charged it will be 4.2V, so you can see the same applies to a 3cell LiPo, it is 11.1V nominally but fully charged it will read 12.6V. Don't connect a 3cell LiPo to it though

Hot glue would be fine - or silicone sealer.

                      No harm.

DemonJim has you covered on the Lipo info
