Maidened but with questions

Maidened my Rush last night and was very smooth, very quiet and a pleasure to fly, very impressed.
The only problem was that my tail kept blowing out of full pitch climbouts or aggresive pitch moves, i have my tail servo ball at 14.9mm but i'm also getting high numbers in the vbar settings (around 126-122) which suggests i need to go out a hole maybe to 17mm but the manual says 13mm-15mm, what are you guys who is using vbar getting on your values and what are your values.
I've also just ordered some Edge 115mm tail blades as opposed to the 105mm Edge.
BTW my set up is
Outrage toorque servo's all round
Spin blades 690's &Edeg 105's
Scorpion hk3 530kv motor
Kosmik 160hv esc
Vbar silverline v5.3
12 degrees of pitch and tail sliders fully at end points, tail very smooth.

Ross, I see a few guys running 110's on the tail on the Freak.

I have my ball at 14mm (think I used a futaba star horn) I think it is so it may be a case of moving your ball in and playing with the length of the rod. Cant recall what my values are on the Vbar but I know they are equal both sides and I do recall them being around the 120 mark. I can check when I get home if you have not got an answer by then.

Look on the Freak as the Alees forum is a very active one.

The manual shows a specific measurement but the manual is a baseline. Try going out to 16 bare in mind of possible happy tail in FFF if you don't get it you are set Also by design you should have equal throws shown in your Vbar setup. Mechanically there is 6 degree counter torq built in (for hovering or rate mode setup) so adjust your tail rod links to achieve balanced numbers.

Its been a few years since I have delt with a fusion but like most helis you do not need much pitch in the "with" torque direction. On the Rush balanced numbers put you in the operational range for flight, Rush shows more pitch on the anti torque direction than with torque direction by mechanical design.

Nick,AFAIK you want balanced figures on all heli's.

I always adjust the tail to try and get them both the same on all heli's

That's what i thought,Ben....mine are all equal,the fusion has the lowest at 40 each way but flies great,i do get a twitch(minimal) on pitch pumps but i do have a fair bit of slop in the tail,the brass slider has never been a good fit on the tail output shaft despite buying new bits.Now i have the jive80 on there it shows more as the gov is much better than the Cremations one

I know you can go down to about 60 without issues but did not realise you could drop as low as 40!!!! I would have played with the tail mechanics a bit more maybe.

vbar says values between 40 and 60 ok

You may need to adjust the tail pre-comp in the vbar if you can't get it 100%

Not on express Ben 30-70 only pro which is 40-140

We talking about the tail setup, travel in either direction? This is Vbar 5.3.2

I see what you mean, it allows you to go to these values you mention but if you read the text it says values between 80-120 are what you should aim for 80 suggests to far out and 120 too close in on the horn.
