afaik the bmfa is a non profit organiseation.
they do publish a list of things describing what proportion of your 28quid goes where, last i looked less than 10ukp of it is actually insurance.
so in the context of 28ukp for the insurance cover we get yes its good value by todays standards. However considering less than 10ukp of what we pay is actually insurance im not so sure.
for a committee of a club its vital to go bmfa affilated the cover then extends to the committee incase somebody should then sue them.

Have to agree with Ade on one point the £28 is actually good value for insurance coverage which I would doubt you would get presently elsewhere for such a cost, but if only £10 of this is going into the insurance post then I would have to say no, £18 for everything else is just not worth it.
As a for instance the mag reading the other post is a waste of time, so cost savings could be made there, if it was either selectable or downloadable from the site. All the best
Tony.

Right so we now know that £18 a year for each member is not insurance .. Then we take into account that the BMFA has got us over the years ... insurance cover for our clubs, 35mhz band for air only ... Let us keep the 2.4ghz band for flying as well .. And all the other bits and bobs over the years that they do ... Like anything .. If you dont like it .. try and change it then .. get on the board and sort it from within
