Fine tuning Controls on Phoenix

Hello

I am still new to the R/C Heli Hobby, In all I think I am about 4 weeks in.

I have been using the Phoenix sim for about 2 weeks now. The controls and the associated terminology, I am getting used to. I have changed the settings for my DX6i using a clip from You tube YouTube - Setting up Dx6i with Phoenix flight sim .

Even on the calmest of weather settings all my R/C Helis seems to drift left, as soon as they take off. Is that meant to happen?

Also I want to program the smoke and Landing gear to channels 5 and 6. How do I do that?

Hi to change the channels go to system > my controls > highlight your tx, then click edit profile > then change channels on right side.
For the drift I'd go through the calibration for the transmitter again making sure your trims are centred.

When you calibrate the controls, do you calibrate 1 stick or both sticks together? Also do I just do 1 rotation of the stick or multiple?

both sticks on same the calibration page, I do one at a time then move to next step you can do multiple rotations,
