  • Backwards pie dish and others

    Hi all,
I have been trying some backward pie dishes in phoenix today amongst a couple of other things.
I can't seem to get them steady though and was hoping someone could point out where I'm going wrong.
Heres an attachment with a recording done on phoenix version 2.0j.
    Thanks.

Pie dishes looked ok to me Adrian but I'm no expert.

You actually tightened the circle up with too much aileron which in turn lost altitude but you rectified that I saw.

I did notice those smart arsed inverted autos though..

Looking pretty good Ade, Can you fly backwards circuits yet? I always fly pie dishes from backwards circuits. They sit in better. Looking very much in control though dude.

PS they are a bugger in wind

      Cheers

I thought i was watching a recording of myself flying...that was up until you crashed, mine are much more spectacular both on the sim and in real life..!

Fix a time and date for an online tutorial session and i am sure that someone can help, even i could give you some advice!

What time of day are you available for an online session??

Bring it all down lower. Much easier for your height control and it shows your mistakes more. Agree with Mattie tho about flying from backwards circuits. Tail down funnels are a natural progression from backwards circuits.

Overall though pretty good I thought.

Just about on the Sim anyway. Still have trouble keeping the tail up and figuring which way the heli is going to turn when I start moving the sticks.

I wouldn't worry Pete. I am a long way off even attempting anything like this for real.
You are still ahead in the real game.

                      Thanks Richie much appreciated.
If I try to bring it lower I find my height control a little wanting and before you know it, I'm inn the deck.
Will take what you said on-board though and try to improve.
