I'm seriously considering selling Phoenix and buying Next. The VR mode is just too great to ignore. I've bought the RX2SIM and have been playing about with the 2 minute demo version (very annoying when you have to take the headset off every 2 mins!) together with my DX8.
So the reason I've not just hit the buy button is that I don't use Phoenix, it has been a waste of money for me. I just can't, it bores me to tears. I can fly about all day in Phoenix, and yet have never managed to LEARN anything from it. I think a lot of that comes from the camera shooting about all over the shop and the fact it's just not realistic sitting at my desk with a TX. With the VR headset on, most of those issues go away (a couple of new ones come into play, but they're not insurmountable).
I've just bought a 500L Dominator in real life (great naming there Align!) but in VR it's tiny and soon goes out of site (IRL it's huge compared to my 450 sport!), it also seems light as a feather and fast. Are there any models that anyone would recommend as being a realistic and good learning tool, maybe after tweaking a few settings?
IRL I can basically hover in all directions and do circuits / lazy 8's. I've been like that since around 2012. If this SIM, VR or not, could actually make me feel like I might make some progress then I will have no problem buying the full product ASAP.
[EDIT] If it makes any difference, the real 500L I have is kitted out with a VBar and Pro software rather than G-Pro.
Cheers.
