  • Models In Next

I've just got NeXt and finding quite a difference in the models between it and Phoenix, a sim I've been using for years. The Align 700 Dom, I don't know how anyone flys it for real if the sim is close to the real model. Anything other than Grandpa mode and I can't really control it, it's flying me.

The only model I find that feels okay for my flying is the Compass 7HV, which feels like something I could fly. These are base settings without me playing so open to suggestions. Anyone with the 7HV and NeXt, is it similar? Anyone with the Dominator is it similar.

Been using next for the last couple of years since it started. I've found it very realistic. Trouble is I've never used phoenix. ...but, in my experience, the blade 130x is bang on and the mikado logo 500, just feels like a bigger more stable version of my logo 400 se. My favorite model always was and still is, the vibe 90. I fly it on hot settings. I'll soon find out how close it is to the real thing when I finally fly my REAL vibe 90!

I find the neXt version of the Logo 700 with Mirko settings really nice. Never flown a real one, but it feels "right" somehow.

Also, I like that the sim is more lively! Makes the real thing feel likea piece of cake, after all, the sim is just an approximation, I just want to learn stick movements.

The 700e Dominator just feels like a missile, skittish, no hang and heavy. The 3G felt a bit better but still the same overall feel and oddly I couldn't piro loop either, failed at the same point I do at the field. Whereas I can do it all day in Phoenix, they feel very different.

The 7HV, if it flys in real life like it does in NeXt that could very well be my next model.

Seems to imply that Phoenix is too easy.

drop the pitch 11 degrees each way add some weight and up the cyclic gain to 75 , much better.

I'm not sure if easy is the right word but certainly different. I'm not one normally for tuning models and in Phoenix just use them as they come, wanted to do the same in NeXt but it feels very different. It could be something as simple as the piro speed and weight of the model

I just use the "pro pilot" settings on all neXt models (with a linear pitch curve) and they seem good to me, but I don't have any of the equivalent real life models to compare. I find the "soft" settings way too slow for my liking. Having just had a play with the 700 Dom on the "Luca" setting it seems perfectly okay to me. Also tried it on the "soft" setting and it's like flying in slow motion. Maybe there's something wrong with your Tx calibration? Also are you getting a decent frame rate with your graphics settings?

I think I'm comparing the equivalent with Phoenix and suffice to say they're not similar. But, if the Dominator flies like that in real life then I wouldn't be able to fly it, it would run away with me. In fact in considering my next model which will be an E the 700e is out, it's too much

I haven't flown them all and I know you can trim them but as I said I've used Phoenix for years and the models are very different. Just surprised me a bit

Don't think it's anything to do with the sim itself, I think I would know if the heli wasn't reacting properly to the Tx, so don't think it's that
