  • Aerofly 5.7 Sessions

I changed from Phoenix to Aerofly 5.7 when I replaced my PC with a Mac. I much prefer Aerofly but now feel I'm missing out on these web sessions you Phoenix users get to indulge in! Is anybody else using Aerofly 5.7 and want to join a session sometime?

Looks like I'll have to keep flying on my own then
I would recommend Aerofly if anyone is thinking about it - full 3D landscapes is a great feature allowing chase mode flying which adds a whole different dimension.

I'm seriously contemplating AeroFly 5 for my Mac. It would be native to my system. I find Phoenix runs ok via paralles but I'm not overly sure about the graphics. The heli ends up as and indistainct jaggy blob really quite quickly. It's got to the point where I've put autozoom back on for a while so I can see what is happening to the heli as I practise a move.

What are your feelings about it? Given the cost and the that I'd have to buy an adaptor for my Spektrum Tx, is it worth it?

        Aerofly 5.7 Sessions

Hey Vikki, yes Aerofly 5.7 is expensive but it looks stunning. I think it's worth the expense just to avoid Windows! I'm only just down the road from you in Whiteley, you are welcome to drop around and try it for yourself you if are still undecided.
        Cheers, John

Thanks. Does it come with the appropriate Spekky adaptor or do I have to buy it separate?

            You'll need the adapter too.

I've done it. The bullet was placed gently between the teeth and given a firm bite. I have... ordered... AeroFly 5 for my Mac.

Should be here tomorrow. Why don't the shops that sell it sell the blasted adaptor cables. Comes with the interface and all. Apparently it's a 2.5mm stereo jack on the Tx end to a 3.5mm mono at the interface end. Just a matter of changing the plug at Tx end to a mono 3.5mm I would think.

Are you sure its a 2.5mm plug that goes into the back of the transmitter, as my DX6i has got a 3.5mm!

My bad, I didn't make that clear at all. The cable that comes with it has a 2.5mm on one end. I would need to change that to a 3.5mm to fit my Tx.

We have to arrange a flying session - I have Aerofly 5.7 on windows and love it - its much better than Phoenix and the models are more realistic!

There may be a polarity issue, you would need to check. If its any help Midlands supply the adapter and its in stock.
