Wow! Looks like the heli sim world has changed!
it’s been a while since I’ve flown or posted anything on here.
Had a quick look around and it’s nice to see familiar names still knocking around.

My main reason for posting was because I thought I’d get my sim up and running again but wanted to check what’s a good set up for dx7 and Mac mini 2.5GHz i5
Since Phoenix was never great on a Mac and the one and only Heli Addict Ade Law has apparently gone and done the sim thing (congrats!) I feel it’s a no brainier to do a buy.
    Couple of quick questions:
Is it likely to have a major update soon and are the major version updates free or cost?
Will my og simstick work with it?

The Accurc website was very slow or just not loading earlier when I tried to check some of this info... tried on Wi-fi and then 4g via iPhone.

Either way, pretty excited to give it a go and get my fingers twitching again. 🤙🏻

Welcome back. I'm sure Ade will chime in with the definitive answers. When it went onto Steam from the original app setup, everything became super easy and updates happen automatically. I'm using the original USB dongle that I got with the original version way back when. There was an update not long ago, no idea if anything is coming up, and so far all updates have been free since it was ported over to Steam (at least since I started using the Steam version anyway).

we changed the website to amazon web services recently to speed things up, we are working through some teething problems i just checked and it is working if a little slow to load.

Sim stick doesnt work as a usb controller unfortunately. It's just a thing that takes an rx and converts it into ppm for use with old school sim dongles.

What tx do you have? if running spektrum the spektrum ws2000 dongle is excellent if a little on the pricey side, any of the cheap chinese dongles work great. the Align dongle works but suffers from some jitter.

Updates are free for the foreseeable future, including v3 which we are working on now.

Thanks Ade, you answered a question of mine - i've been exploring what would work with my futaba 14sg. Seems like there are a number of sim cables on amazon.

          Thanks for all the responses

Ade, I have a DX7. Will either of these HK dongles work:

the frsky one is for frsky tx only.

Orange rx do a dsmx version of the one you picked, thats for frsky too.

unless you didnt mean dx7 you meant qx7?

the frsky qx7 works great over direct usb connection, no dongle required.

              It’s for use with a Spektrum DX7.

I found the Orange RX dsm2/dmx bit it’s out of stock. FML.
Decided, screw it let’s just keep it simple and get the Spektrum one. I looked at the WS2000 but on some websites it says not compatible with DX7 gen1...
Spektrum’s website has very little info I could find on the WS2000 so couldn’t confirm. Any idea if it does or doesn’t work?
I appreciate the support, being a newb again sucks

the specs on the spektrum website say its compatible with dsm2 and dsmx so the ws2000 should work with the gen1

that's strange considering its dsm2.... time for a tx upgrade? ;-)

                    love my frsky qx7s

one of the cheap chinese dongles will also work.

                    Ade

the orange rx dongle doesnt say it doesnt work with gen1 dx7
