  • Aileron tictocs

I've never noticed this any other sims, but AccuRC seems to have a difference between nose-left and nose-right tictocs. Is this because the tail rotor is pushing up vs. down?

I can feel the same difference IRL, but I always thought it was a favourite vs. weak side thing.

Apparently, it's well known that they're easier to do when the tail is giving 'lift' for want of a better word. I heard that a long time ago, but don't do even 1000th the number of nose left tic-tocs Vs nose right so I've not really paid attention to it in real life. It's something I should really work on, as tic tocs are one thing I do really well.

Because AccuRC is based on a real physics model, where modeled control linkages move modeled blades that disturb modeled air etc, it's probably much closer to real life than in other sims in this regard.

Now they just need to get the sound right, where aileron tic-tocs moving backwards sound completely different to aileron tic-tocs moving forwards thanks to clean vs dirty air hitting the blades.
Current fleet: Goblin Thunder Sport (700), Trex 700L, Logo 600, Specter 700, Henseleit TDR, V-Baaa control.
Next heli: I have pretty much everything I want. Maybe I'll upgrade some electronics or something.

I had no idea it was a known thing, good to hear. It's amazing that AccuRC gets it right then. It's definitely more difficult with the tail pulling down, requiring more collective and aileron.

I've never bothered with the sound, I'd rather listen to music or have something on the box.

Thanks bigpops, I'm always impressed with the depth of knowledge there is on the forum, from you, waveydavey, grumpy, just about everyone really

The point about tail thrust in aileron tictocs is a really good one, I'd never thought of it but now it's mentioned it's obvious.
