  • After an hour

Just thought i would give my first impressions after actually owning it.

Decided to try it after goes at helimasters in Venlo and a few times at Air 2014.I needed to use my own tx to get a proper feel for it.It is actually quite good but a bit annoying having to wait for spool up when trying new moves etc.
I feel that guys behind this will improve it further so will stick with it.
Is it better than RF and Phoenix??...no,not yet but i feel it will be in the near future knowing the guys who are behind it.

It was great to talk firsthand with the AccuRC team at AIR. There are many niggles but for me it's the smaller things like why not make it so you can adjust all 3 cyclic servos in one hit. Noone is going to use different cyclic servos in a single setup. After speaking with the guys they said an update is due this week with any luck and niggles like this will be addressed in the update.

You can see the team are looking for perfection :-)

I too was impressed at AIR, I had about 10 minutes on it and it 'felt' better than Phoenix and what im using at the moment - NeXt.

Id still like to try it for a bit longer though, on my home system to see how it does.

Any time you get bored of it Nick and fancy popping in the post for me for a couple of days do let me know

So the hype of "it blows the others away "were indeed exagerated then?

Sounds like its just so,so at present, would that statement carry more accuRC?

But for something to hit the market that's already being labelled as same as or better than Phoenix without any of the years of development has to be good for us. Let's give the team time to mature and develop their product before we diss it.

I for for one once I get my arse into gear and order a new pc will be getting it. Good luck Ash and the team involved in the development.

Well I tried it at AIR and I guess it just shows how subjective it all is because I honestly didn't like it, it felt and looked false. I tried both the spastic synergy that dunkan set up and the rave too and i just felt totally disconnected from it. The sound was good but the whole package didn't live up to the hype for me. I'm sure it will be good but I hate paying money to beta test a product.
could well be just me because I didn't like RF much either but at least that wasn't like an Xbox imho

Had another 15 minutes in my lunch break and it feels pretty good,i aint changed anything other than servo voltage tbh...the tail feels fairly real and love the sound in piro's.

Another nice touch is it has a converter in the recorder so you can upload to youtube without a secondary program for capture.

Taken straight off and on to youtube

I am also on highest settings on graphics etc, knew upgrading pc would pay off

I haven't managed to get the video converter to work yet. The first two times there was no sound, and the rotor disc looked like an asterisk. Next two times there was no rotor disc at all. There was sound, but it was a constant sound and didn't change as the heli flew.

Other than that though, I really like how it flies. There's LOTS of room for improvement, but with free lifetime updates, I didn't mind investing early on.
Current fleet: Goblin Thunder Sport (700), Trex 700L, Logo 600, Specter 700, Henseleit TDR, V-Baaa control.
Next heli: I have pretty much everything I want. Maybe I'll upgrade some electronics or something.

I find it strange even trying Phoenix on anyone else's computer, as we all have different set ups, just like with our real life helis.
Example...i fly a Trex 550 V3 with a mini Vbar, my mate has an identical heli but with a 3GX, He let me fly it the other day, it felt different to mine, but no worse, just different, more robotic and not as natural, with a faster tail, more expo on cyclics than i'm used to etc.....
I recently had a go on phoenix at another friends house (Yes i have two friends) and it felt horrible compared to how i have mine set, i'm used to my DX8, he had a DX7 with longer sticks and a different set up so i struggled the whole way through.
Point i'm making is...... having a go on a new sim at a show with someone else's preferred setting and different Tx, isn't always going to feel that great, but i guess you would get a fair idea of the overall sim.

Had a go a few months back in Zone format,
the TX was an old DX7 and it felt a bit awkward to be fair... the graphics weren't as brilliant as I imagined, the head looked nothing like the real thing in flight and the lack of Expo setup on the TX made the things a bit difficult.

                        Had another go at AIR,
this time with proper setup DX7S and nicer machines running the software, could see the "head" graphics were polished and the only thing I wasn't to keen on was the Camera, didn't bother asking to change it to "keep ground in view" but suppose I would have enjoyed it a bit better that way.

overall I think its a nice sim and as mentioned above, its almost impossible to tell exacly how it performs against the competitors unless you play with the settings to suit your preferences.

Fair price and brilliant buch of guys behind the product, I suppose we can do our bit by purchasing the Sim and give the guys a bit more "incentive" to work on

I guess it depends what you are looking for in a sim really.

I dont think anything would blow me away TBH, unless it was proper 3D immersive experience, and I think thats just a step too far at the moment to be economically viable.

Accu-rc seems to do things a little differently from the other sims in terms of the physics and aerodynamic modelling, and the discussion that I had with them was sensible and bullsh1t free. I dont think they are the ones hyping it up to the max TBH.

I do think they will do well with this. Its a slightly different take on the Sim, and for beginners in particular the model set up bit may prove to be very useful.

As I said, I want more time on it before I shell out with my cash, whether I will get that or not is another question
