  • New AccuRC Sim Workshop and Configuring Components Video

An overview of the component swapping in AccuRC and how you configure components by Ashley Davis

I think a few of us will be getting this just to try different configurations of models to see if changing things really make a difference to the flying. Will be interested to see if changes in the sim translate in any way to the same changes to a real model.

It looks incredible, not sure whether I want to do too much changing about, but I'm loving the approach. Just one thing stop with the teasers just get it out Ash

I wonder how many people actually get so bloody engrossed in all this tweaking porn that they forget to go out and fly their models in real life to progress their skills. Instead of spending loads of time trying to detect the flight difference between a set of Outrage or Futaba servos in this workshop. I have to say this side of it does not interest me at all.

Depending on how well this workshop system functions I can only see it as a good positive addition.
There are hundreds of hours a year that for reasons like bad weather, short winter days and limited time windows, people can't get to the flying field so having this extra dimension added to a flight sim could fill a gap in the need to fly and encourage useful sim use.

It is interesting. I think though that when you talk about things like mismatched servos it's not gonna necessarily fly wonky unless you go back to a flybarred setup because if you think about it, the FBL controller doesn't really care if the servos match it's going to apply whatever correction is needed (obviously there are limits but from one fairly fast servo to another it will just compensate and you'd only notice the difference if you move the sticks faster than the slowest servo). Sooooo, it may be trying to be too clever for it's own good.

I agree with you Adam, although it's cool in a way I don't have the least interest in even seeing the servos move on a sim I just want the model to fly as close to real life as possible, I want to turn it on and fly and turn it off when I'm done.

Personally I think its a silly gimmick.

                  What's the purpose of a sim ?

The feature will be played with for a few times then never used.
                  Cheers

Unfortunately I dont really get it either . Ive made small changes on my helis & dont really notice much difference to be honest . Saying that it may just be im a crap pilot & dont notice these things lol . I go to fly , not mess about changing stuff so cant see myself doing it on a sim . On a brighter note if it turns out to be really realistic out of the box then im in . Im just hoping it doesn't turn out to be a gimmick with no real substance unless you are willing to spend a whole load of time tinkering .

But will it include hobbyking servos and blades and will it allow for 20% nitro on a frosty morning compared to 30% nitro on a hot summers day?

The one thing I'd like to see is being able to adjust the mixtures on the engine, I think that would help learning to tune you engine. as for changing servos blades I agree with it being a gimmick and not important.

And bearings that get corrosion and stuff that randomly breaks.

That would actually be kinda cool. Super accurate running behaviour and accurate sound when it's running rich or lean etc.
