i'm not sure the in flight video looks any better, maybe worse than reflex xtr which must be 8 years old now. i dont know where its going with setting up the heli, to me this is a chore in real life and definately not something i would want to do on a sim. pimping a heli in real life is one thing, but pimp my sim raptor. hopefully this is just the intro?

      the feedback sounds very positive.

I don't know what's wrong with this place at the moment but some entrepreneur sets about introducing a new sim, gizmo etc and without any experience of it at all we're already slating it. Give it a chance the team whoever it may be have spent obviously a load of time putting something together for us the RC heli community. Chill boys and girls

Cool that means we get a sim designed by a heli pilot ?! So hopefully it's easy to tune and actually flys like a model heli ! Although probably a v bar equipped one .

I'm not slating it at all! The detail looks amazing but look how many sims have come and gone and they looked amazing as well! it all comes down to the physics! Maybe a public beta so we can actually get a taste of what it feels like.

Absolutely and not picking on any one comment John, it's the general feel of the thread, I'm guilty of having a go at something if I don't feel it's up to much and I'll add the odd sarcastic comment here and there, it's an overall observation.

Lets wait until they do a release of some sort, beta or etherwise. If Ash has had something to do with it, he's been away from the scene for a few years, maybe concentrating on this then why not give it the benefit of the doubt until it's been broken by us lot.

I don't know why any of you are knocking the close-up detail of this. The flying physics are the unimportant part. This new sim was requested by Ben's wife so he could buy new virtual kits every week and do build threads on them!

im not meaning to slate it, i really hope its a success and does up the quality of the sim world, the fact it is from a uk company makes it even better. i will buy a copy if it is significantly better as a sim.

i guess from the video, it focus's less on the important (to me) flight sim part and more on still shots of helis, which was where my criticism came from

For me they need to produce a demo version that can be used with existing gear (SimStick, RF controller, generic USB dongle) with a say 10-15 minute playable demo.

Rolling demos are great to show it fundamentally working on your machine but Sims are so subjective ... Would love to find a (near) perfect one but would deffo needs 'try b4 buy' / public beta

+1 on the compatibility with existing gear and a 10min demo mode.

That sad, as I have Phoenix at the moment which I don't use that much (lazy) I'd probably only get it if it was top notch and not much more than throw away money.

Well I look at it this way - if they've gone into this much detail as regards the actual mechanics of the models, then there's a damn good chance they've been equally anal about the other aspects.

I like the idea that you can actually play about with servo type, ball position etc (and I love that it has the Rush!) so you can get the sim set up EXACTLY like your real heli. I assume it's more than just visual at that sort of level and that the changes of ball position and servo speed etc will actually feed through into the model settings.

However, I did a quick search and couldn't see any mention of whether it will work on mac... to me that is the make or break part. There are SO many sims, including the extremely well regarded realflight that work on windows but not on mac. They are extremely popular these days and I would hope that any new simulator would be able to work on both windows and mac natively. If I have to run windows then I'd probably go for a sim like real flight instead.

Hopefully these guys can see how running natively on mac will give them a selling boost over the majority of the competition... I guess we'll find out soon enough. If they do then I'll happily buy into it, especially if people like jamin are rating the physics well.

EDIT - and yeah, +1 for Occulus Rift and Other VR goggles support, that would most likely rock my socks.

No MAC but if you got to run Windows why would you NOT buy it and get another?
