  • Vario EC135 1/4 Scale with JetCat SPT-5H turbine

So over the last 8 years or so I must have had some 40 plus new models of varying size and style , and have now got a little bored with helis in general so to speak . I still have my Logo 600SX V2 and I'm awaiting the arrival of the NEW Logo 700 which should be released mid summer so i'm told . Although I seriously lack 3D skills I simply love building helicopters and have decided to build a Vario EC135 1/4 scale model with a jetcat motor . The expense is one thing but looking into the build side of it, it looks quite a challenge to say the least .
Has anybody else built similar and what colour scheme would you go for ?

Blimey, even the tail has more to it than most entire helicopters! That looks an awesome bit of kit though!

Something I fancy doing and the build looks so intense to say the least , agreed the tail looks a work of art . Ans yes I will do a full build thread on this one once I get it ordered and it arrives .

          Great.
I predict that it will take more than two or three days to throw it together!

Go on ScaleRCHelis.com if you haven't already done so, it might help you decide what's best before spend your money, just looked at the weight over 20kg you will need to look on the LMA (large model association) website and read the over 20kg scheme before you start to build, it will need an exemption to fly from the CAA. Awesome heli by the way and I look forward to the build thread.

Nice choice Rob, personally I would go with a UK Air Ambulance or UK Police Helicopter, should be easier to get hold of information to allow you to get a good scale replica

It takes a JetCat SPT-5H turbine as far as I know , I have a lot of learning to do !

Really? I'd be shocked if under 20kg ud have to remove stuff to get that

Even the non turbine elect 135 I think is close to 25kg

ud have to leave out cockpit flooring do no detailing
no lights change the undercarriage etc

the slight smaller 1/4 EC120 electric you can just get under 20kg

if it does end up over 20kg and I'm sure it will you will then need
to add a redundant power system
ie like a power box duel receiver and duel Rc battery back up system
mind on this size it's a good idea to have anyway

real inportant thing to bear in mind your need very strong glue and lots of it
and will costhundreds of pounds its costs around £15-£20 ish pounds a double barrel tube
