Wow. As a fairly newbie, do you need a special sort of licence/permission (I would assume special insurance) to fly these?
all you need is to follow the ANO and CAA guide lines on large model/small aircraft flight
no special licence but a B cert is recommended
the Large Model Association have their own insurance scheme and test
models over 20kg need to be inspected whilst being built and flight tested under the current uk laws to allow them to fly
