I finally got mine in the air a couple of weeks ago. This is the 4th A109E I have owned. I bought it 2nd hand along with a 60 size BK117 just after I moved to Aus. Work, travel and the weather have delayed getting both models in the air. I replaced the existing receiver pack with a 2000mA 4.8V NiMH battery as the model had not been flown in about a year. It has R60 mechanics with the TT70PRO engine and the R90 metal head swinging 700mm NHP blades. A heavy landing will certainly result in a fin strike. Had two flights and was horrified to find the receiver pack down to 25%. I have now installed a 2S 3000mA Lipo and a 5V, 15A UBEC. Not tested it yet, but the heli club here is having their 25th anniversary in a couple of weeks so will get it out then.

            very nice heli indeed.

The one thing I would say if I might - its such an amazing looking heli that the battery and internal gubbins really stand out to me. would tinted windows perhaps be an option?

I totally agree but tinted windows I don't think would look that good.

The radio has been tidied up with a radio box since that picture was taken. The spiral wrap has been replaced with carbon braiding. Looks a million times better now. In my defence I like my radio wiring immaculate but needed to get a flight in before the naff weather set in.
