  • AH-1 Cobra

    Hi All

With some relief, my cobra cleared customs and was delivered on Friday afternoon. No damage and no duty.

I need to finish fitting the tail gearbox and rudder pushrods and she'll be ready to test.IMAG0048.jpg

It's the TF/Smartmodel fus. 600 scale helicopter fuselage from century smartmodel heliartist and sportsmoto ltd uk. They are normally supplied painted desert brown, but I wanted to civilianise mine, so managed to get an unpainted one. The Mechanics are trex600e, belt drive tail, with shortened side frames. This meant I had to get a smaller motor as the stock Align one would have stuck out the bottom. The side frames, tail gearbox and longer mainshaft are all supplied with the fus. The nose mods were done with balsa and fiberglass cloth.

I have just received the Alouette III fus with multi head and tail. This is also an unpainted one which I intend to model as a gunship of the Rhodesian/Zimbabwean Air Force.
