I cant understand why there are no Scale Helicopter flyins in the north of england all the scale local to me flyins are fixed wing and you cant even go to most of them as a spectator thus beggs the question how do i keep my kids interested in becoming pilots / modelers of the future

I agree, there are not very many scale fly - ins at all really, even in the rest of the country.
My nearest one is Charmouth heli day, which isn't specifically Scale heli's, although there are a lot of scale heli's flying at that event.
You may want to try this: Events - Model Flying

Midland helicopter club has a scale event ... Parkhall have had scale events in the past .. BMFA mag has a list of events in there as well
