my first scale fuselage build on going bit of fun

here's goes, i bought the fuse from a freind of a freind its not in the best of condition as it has been adapted to take a trex 700 gasser but has never been finished nevermind flown lol, my daughter is in the photo just to show the size of the thing she is 5ft 3in it didnt come with the raptor 90 that was sat in it for the photo.

That will be great fun to complete - I've only done a 500 size (airwolf) which I really enjoyed.

this is why i like scale bodies.... they make the heli look much bigger!

I had one of these fuses, it was from LHC (UK) - they were Funkey ones (Century USA) a superb fuselage for not a lot from memory, not sure if they do it anymore... they were just supplied in primer paint so you could do your own scheme

this fuselage is a thunder tiger one of the augusta 109a 90 size, i forgot to say i bought it about 3 months ago and have done loads of sanding and painting on it already i will add some more pics shortly, after a lot of searching on the internet of augustas and what scheeme i liked i settled on the derbyshire,leistershire & rutland air ambulance and i just hope i do it justice lol

i built one of those a few yrs ago with Century predator gasser mechanics,flew ok but retracts were crap as stock,not strong enough to support the weight of the model.
Tended to pitch up in FF,looked good in the air though which is what scale is all about

Just a quick up date on how the projects going, heres a couple of pics of the front of the fuselage, i dont think it looks too bad apart from me getting the epoxy around the edge of the windows..

heres some more pictures and info on the progress upto date
retracts fitted and working, all nav lights fitted and working as are the landing lights they come on and off as the retracts are opperated got some decals fitted still got some to get made... the hardest job is yet to be done and thats getting the rappy 90 finished and flying before fitting it into the fuz i have had the airframe in place but took it back out to paint ect, i will add a video of the retracts and lights when i work out how to upload vids lol

Yes it is a good paint job.

Now for a really stupid question. (I have just bought a secondhand Airwolf and hopefully you can answer this)
How do you get the main shaft, blades, etc through the top cowling to assemble the thing? Is it done in parts, etc, and then re-assembled in situ, as it were?

Fit it in the fus minus head just with the main shaft and swash on then fit top cowl and refit head and swash links simples
