  • Augusta 109 ongoing project

A mate found for me at last years Nats the 109 body shell and paid the costly sum of a tenner for it

After a short while decided what we had Raptor 60 was not going to fit, so a replacement was sort......

Predator 70 was bought and fits with minor adjustments.....

I decided I wanted it in army colours, and the first coats were applied....

Finally got it painted, so time to get it down the site for test flights.

    All went well....

Had a few issues with the tail, but all sorted now and it flies very well.

Still needs work doing to it, needs some armour adding and other bits and pieces. So still very much work in progress

Looks great, I love the look of scale helis but worry that I'll get bored flying them, I guess most of the satisfaction is in the build and the end result.

    Would that be correct ?

There's also the satisfaction of having to learn how to fly it "scale style", as a real one would fly. Harder than it looks, or maybe I'm just being anal..........lol

LMAO flying them isn't easy scale style flying

People think piper cubs are easy to fly and yes but now go and fly it scale like, its not the same as just flying around the sky thats the easy bit!

                bloody harder than you think!

Why I ask is that when I had an A109 fuse on my 450, it put the weight up to over 1350grams!!

                          Doesn't feel that heavy...

Certainly not as heavy as the Raptor60 Defender
