Pitch / Throttle

Hey guys,

Just curious as to what settings you are using for your pitch and throttle settings on your scale machines.

My setup is a t-rex 600 with a .61 and a 3 blade heliartist head, what would you suggest as a starting point ?

What I would suggest is for the normal curve to set the throttle curve value at your hover point to 50%. Set the rest of the throttle curve around that point for a smooth response. Get the model into a hover and tach the head. Adjust the hover point throttle curve value to get the desired headspeed you want and then adjust the rest of the curve accordingly.

Failing all of that fit a governor and don't bother with a throttle curve!

Scale is normally quite slow on the head, Some friends fly at 900 rpm with 2.5 mtr machines.
On a rex they do not like slow head's so i would say run as slow as you can get away with, no nodding.
As for pitch try -2 low, 5-6 mid and 9 hi and work from there, set a hover pitch trim and you can play in flight.

with my scale heli's i set idle up 3 first
-10,0,+10
then i go back to normal mode
-3,+5,+9/10
if its a heavy gasser the low pitch will be set around +2

depending on the model the head speed will be from around 900-1500
