  • TREX450 EC135 Tail Authority

    Hi Guys,
Have built a 450 with a 4 bladed head from Heliartist, Align 3g stabilisation unit and scale weighted blades. Standard tail at the moment, but will hopefully fit Fenstrom unit later. When the heli is out of the fuse it works perfectly, but when fitted I am having problems with tail authority. Was flying just now and when I turned to the left the heli started to spin and I was not able to correct. Bit of damage not too bad at all really. Took it back out and it flew fine
Does anyone have any ideas? or had issues when fitting the EC135 fuse?
    Thanks Matt

Have you tried running it on a bench or just moving the rudd?? it sounds like maybe the tail control is catching on the fuse or getting stuck.
Yes the big sigpic is coming back

Thanks for the reply. I think that the tail was almost going into geometric lock, had to move the grip assembly out on the spindle to gain enough angle of attack on the blades to hold the heli in yaw. It only started to spin after an input. Will have to look again when I get the time. Just wondering if anyone had problems with tail auth.
