    Re: 4-bladed head....

Martin Briggs had the blades out of my kit! Apparently he wasn't very happy with the ones that came with his, so he asked for another set, and my kit got raided!

When I finished this one off (its actually MacGregors old static display model) I just put two sets of 30 size SABs on it - they work perfectly! In fact Martin has had a go with it, and reckons it flies better than his with the designed blades!!!

I believe they were going to work out quite expensive, and MacGregors didn't think they would sell. You can get them to special order, I believe. Steve Roberts had the big version - a gasser LongRanger, which also flies extremely well!

      Scale 5 Blade MD500E

      Howdie,

Although i dont own this anymore, this was my dabble into the world of scale. The 5 blade head was unaided by the way of electronics, and bit of a handful to fly!

Was fun to build and setup

It wasn't so much the tracking it was the lack of tail authority. At the time i looked at stabalization, but at the time they were too expensive so i sold it on.

I see you know Mr Briggs Pete. I was taught to fly by Martin back in 2001/2. Popped in to say hello a couple of weeks back and had a good chat with him.

His shop is a mecca for scale modellers.

                Hi Aidi,

Yes, I've known Martin quite a long time now. We don't see each other all that often - living in different parts of the country - but he was at the Nats last year, and popped in to Charmouth a couple of weeks back. We always say hello - and he does have some gorgeous models!
