So I picked up the heli yesterday morning. All I can say is AWESOME! The heli is in excellent condition. Apparently it was only flown a handful of times! It doesn't even look like it's flown to me!
    Some photos as promised!

Another question.. mainly on the servos for the Titan... is it ok to use a different servo for the pitch?
I have just checked and I have:
      Aileron and Elevator: Futaba S9252
      Pitch: Hitec 6965HB

I was going to change the Hitec to another Futaba but I've just seen retail price for the futaba... YIKES! Then I started to think... it's not like my Trex where all 3 servos work directly with each other.. so I think (correct me please if I'm wrong) it's ok to have a different servo for PITCH?

Looks good! Yeah it's totally OK to have a different servo for pitch.

The original owner also was kind enough to change the receiver from a Futaba to a Spektrum AR7000 DSM2.

Should I keep it or change this to AR8000 DSMX?

If your transmitter will do DSMX use the AR 8000. DSMX is better than DSM2.

Spooled it up on Sunday night... It started straight away! Was tempted to hover it but I resisted.

And finally hovered it outside last night - was very windy as well!
Still need to set up headspeed and tail (slow wag on the tail possibly to headspeed not being right)

Very nice. You may need a clutch liner soon though that seemed like a lot of revs to get the head spinning.

Uh oh - is that easy to find? Is there a generic liner I can buy and cut to shape?

I'm afraid its a pita to get to. it means taking the mechanics out of the frame and dropping the engine out.. A job for your first big service at the end of the season.
Once your flying it you'll soon know if it needs doing. You will hear the motor rev when your using pitch. try a fast climb from hover.

Thanks but where can I buy the clutch lining? Do I have to get the specific one for Raptor Titans or is there a generic one I can buy? Parts for the heli are hard to get now.

Yeah probably that's the time to just do the electric conversion!

Got a funny story and video!

I was rushing to fire up the heli on Sunday (before the running video I posted above) so I rushed and filled the tank up - without remembering that I needed to clamp the line going into the carb! I didn't notice until I saw fuel dripping out of the bottom of the heli!
Sure enough - engine was flooded! Starter couldn't turn the engine to fire it up!

Problem was, the space inside to get to the glowplug is VERY tight and I only had a big wrench! It wouldn't fit!
I spent 30 minutes trying to get to it and eventually luckily found a small socket wrench for the glowplug!

So... after 30 minutes of unflooding the engine, here's the video of me about to try again for the 2nd time!
                              Enjoy!

LOL if that happens again tip the heli over on its side (towards the exhaust) then click it with the starter, that sometimes can clear it.

most heli shops have clutch liner.
