My first attempt Lama

Hi all, my first attempt at scale? Acquired this second hand recently, fully stripped down and fitted with new parts as necessary including servos, gyro etc. took ages to remove all the old paint!
Struggled to find a picture on the Internet where the full size had a fairing over the fuel tank? Eventually found one for a French company making plastic components! Anyway sourced pilots using artists mannequins with 1/8 scale latex heads and flying overalls from China! Made my own waterslide transfers,.
Have really enjoyed this as a project and started to develop some new modelling skills! Long way to go as with my flying?
just need a calm day to try her out?

I looks like the Hirobo one if I'm correct.
It's great to see more and more scale projects appearing as I'm not into 3d,keep the scale heli's coming.

Have you thought of an electric conversion or are you going to leave as Nitro ?

Nitro for me, I need all the flight time I can get to try and make some progress with the flying side of things!!
I know it spoils the scale outline for many but I just love the whole Nitro experience, it's a bit like apocalypse now " I love the smell of Nitro in the morning" ! We fly Saturday's mainly at CMHC and in the early morning mist there is something's special about the smoke trail and the smell of Nitro drifting across the field!

What's the difference between a Lama & an Alouette??

I think the Lama is a bastardized version of the Alouette 2 and Alouette 3 version but looks like the Alouette 2.

great little Heli , mine is work in progress , 6s n electric , left the clutch in for a scale spool up this one will hopefully be ready for next summer

i can't remember which way around but the lama and alouette ons has a 2 blade tail the other has a 3 blade tail
i think the lama has the 2 blade tail
there will be other differences

Looking at your photo though reminds me I have still the extra struts to add? So thanks for that.
We have uncovered quite a few scalers on this site recently?

lama alouette

Hi, have a vario alouette originally a benzine trainer and flybared now converted to 3 bladed and electric 12s its about 6ft long and 12kg the picture was taken before the conversion it flies so much better on electric.

I think the difference between the two was in the tail and tail rotor, I think the alouette had a longer tail and 2 bladed.
the lama had a tail that kicked up very slightly and was shorter and 3 bladed.

Just finished converting my vario Big jetranger to flybarless and electric 12s this is over 6ft and 12 KG and flies so well electric.

And finally I am converting my vario 1/4 scale R22 to electric and flybarless this is really big and even heavier.
